Looking for a way to keep your makeup from fading by mid-day?
Many new products and formulations of cosmetics are specifically designed to keep your makeup looking fresh.
Here are some great tips for stay-put makeup from our pro’s.
Try a makeup primer. These act as a layer that will smooth skin as well as give your makeup something to grip, so it stays in place much longer than on bare skin.
When using blush, try using a cream, setting with powder, and going over this with a powder blush in a matching shade. Sounds time consuming, but it guarantees an all-day flush. When your powder starts to fade, the cream blush will come through and keep you looking bright.
If you are using eyeliner, try a waterproof formula which tends to stay on longer. Always set liner with a matching color of eyeshadow for staying power.
Always set your makeup with a translucent powder. Natural oils in the skin can cause makeup to migrate, so this will absorb excess oil and shine and keep makeup in place.
When using lipstick, fill lips in with a nude liner so your lipstick will have some grip. Try a long-wear lip color, and stay away from runny gloss- you’ll end up eating it off before you get out the door.
Primers give any product something to grab onto, so your makeup has a smooth, perfect surface to work with that will last and last.
